Smart Parking is NOW in Malaysia. Say no more FREE to Street Parking..

In Malaysia, some of the areas you still can park free without need to pay anything. Due to not fully implement the parking meters from the government or the parking meters always malfunction, and lack of the officer manpower to raise the compound tickets to the car parking users. But, this is going to end very soon. Malaysia’s city council have launched the Smart Parking Systems / Apps in order to increase the car parking collection and reduce the operating cost. For eg : Smart Parking Selangor, and Smart Parking Penang. So yeah, bye bye free parking!

Just happened early of last year 2020, The Sunway Group introduce Smart Parking System to the public in early of 2020 after it having been on trial since late 2018, make it the largest smart parking system in Malaysia.

The project includes 7 parking lots with a total of 64 lanes including 32 entry and 32 exit license plate recognition controllers (LPR), 10 units automated payment machines, and a web-based parking management software which gives centralized management and monitoring of 10,000 parking spaces in multiple areas. This new project is thought to mark the country’s first and largest unified license plate recognition (LPR) system with multiple-payment option involving 10,000 car parking bays in Sunway.
