Frankly speaking i just get in touch with insurance 2 weeks ago. I’m signing my agent contract on 4th of March 2020. However i always have a fond in this industries. Before i make up my mind that i want to become insurance advisor, i do not have any bad and wrong idea i have to this industries. On the other hand, i have to agree to some of the people surround me once they heard you’re doing and selling insurance, you probably have become the most unwelcome guest in their list.

But why ya? Why being an insurance agent / advisory suddenly cause your popularity drop 50–90% and i am not exaggerate this figure because it might 100%! Because of this, i dig deep to find out there is few common reason that being an insurance agent can be so unpopular.

  • Insurance always cheat
  • Insurance agent very pushy
  • Inexperience insurance agent

Practically, above pretty much sum all why cause this industries dropping it’s popularity like a lot. However, all the years before i am joining you have to admit that you don’t really understand insurance as well even myself.

Thirty years ago, only one in 10 Malaysian had a life insurance policy. Fast forward to today and that number stands at 3.5 for 10 Malaysians. This is worrying, as the life insurance penetration rate has not risen by much in 30 years. Furthermore, many of the insured are underinsured

The lack of the awareness about the importance of insurance is very worrying. According The Star News Malaysia,

“Taking into account policyholders with more than one life or takaful policies / certificates, only 34 out of 100 people are insured. Meanwhile, the total paid out claims increased 6.5% to RM 10.8 last year from RM 10.1 billion in 2017 due to higher medical claims.”

If you look at the figure, you’re even worry. From the figure, you can know that insurance is a Essential for everyone. Yet, how come from the sales figure it speak another language. My biggest objective to create this series is to raise the awareness of the people to understand insurance. Previously trend, insurance agents are using traditional way to sell insurance and raise…
